Review Detail
2016 Alkimi Marsanne Interpide
Wine Rating
87
A burnt orange to bronze in colour, winemaker Stuart Dudine describes this wine as a little different and it was kept seperate to the Marsanne Roussane blend, I can see why. It’s like no wine i have had before.
A nose that combines black jellybean, sweet rosemary and a touch of grand marnier, three descriptors that i never knew i would use to describe Marsanne ! The palate is bone dry with a baseline of chalky acidity and aniseed character with orange and mandarin fruit. This really pushed the boundaries and will have people on both sides of the fence.
