A great Merlot from Heathcote, a grape and wine that is the subject of much debate in this country. This is a very good example of what the variety can be in Victoria, especially with a few years in the bottle. A bricking red in colour, the nose gives damp earth, choc spice and primary plum fruits. A mature and considered wine, the tannins are fine with touches of old leather and well integrated oak giving ample complexity and character. The wine finishes with drying cassis and plum.

Available at $25 a bottle this is great value.
