Review Detail
2012 Allegiance Wines The Artisan Coonawarra Merlot
Wine Rating
88
A single varietal release from Coonawarra, the wine is a bright with a light red hue in the glass and a nose of dark cherry, plum, a little baking spice and faint leather notes. The palate is light to medium bodied, it’s clean, varietal with brambly dark fruits, well handled acidity and some fine tannins but the wine lacks depth and stuffing on the mid palate. Best enjoyed over the shorter term.
