2018 Windfall Wine Estate Single Handed Merlot
Wine Rating

95
If only more Aussie Merlot was this good, a wine more akin to Bordeaux this is somewhat a revelation with the structure and depth of dark berry fruits having layers of texture and interest.

A nose of plum and blackberry with cedar like spice against damp earth. The wine is defined by its tannin and flowing acidity that underwrites long term clearing whilst giving contrast to black fruits with unsweetened liquorice. The finish has bracken and earth alongside blackberry with excellent length.
