Review Detail

Nebbiolo December 09, 2017
2016 Rowlee Nebbiolo
Wine Rating

91

This single vineyard wine was produced from the southern most end of the Rowlee vineyard that sits 950 meters above sea level in Orange.

A pretty light red in the glass with great clarity, the nose gives dusty dark cherry fruit with background notes of tar and blood orange. A racy line of acidity and piquant tannin structure define the wine with a crunchiness to red cherry fruit and some subtle spiced notes. There is an enjoyable dryness and touch of iodine to finish, with good purity of fruit shining through.

A release that is true to the varietal in terms of character and will have a long life ahead of it in the cellar.
