2006 Cobaw Ridge Lagrein
Wine Rating
91
Deep red that is slightly browning towards the rim in colour, the nose is earthy and restrained with hints of blackberry and barnyard aromas.
The wine has a fine tannin and juicy acid structure that combines with supporting oak and tarry cherry and blackcurrant fruit.
Lagrein is typically a wine that rewards cellaring, with this release no different; it is just starting to show the earthy aged characters that will continue to develop over the medium term.
