2006 Domaine du Vieux Lazaret Châteauneuf-du-Pape

As i get older and taste more wines, i continue to look for more international labels to further inform my palate and give those ever important reference points. This particular example from the Châteauneuf-du-Pape is starting to show it’s age with some duller red hues in the glass and a leathery nose with integrated dusty plum.

The palate shows a wine that is fully integrated, with a textural fruit and tannin interplay. There is freshly tilled earth, leather and blackberry fruit that has good acid, the finish is long and savoury.
