2015 Churchview Estate St Johns Limited Release Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre

This wine is only made in the years where the conditions allow Grenache and Mourvedre to ripen, with 2015 one such year.

A unique nose that has both high toned, almost confected red berry fruits and meaty notes at the same time. The palate is medium to full bodied with a well constructed frame that’s built around racy acidity and drying tannins that do well to counteract the wines 15% alcohol. The textural contrast provided by acid and tannin put focus on drying dark cherry and blackberry fruit, there is little to no oak influence in this wine but it doesn’t need it with proud and vibrant dark fruits on show.
