The nose starts a touch reductive with fresh earth, bay leaf and tomato working with sullen black berry fruits. There is an undercurrent of fennel on the palate with fine tannins and balanced acidity; fruit focuses on red cherry with savoury impact on the mid palate before sweeter, riper fruits frame the finish. A wine of fruit and earthen influence that will grow well with time. Great value at $20.
