Wine Rating
91
This wine is sourced from Shadowfax’s Werribee vineyard that was planted to Shiraz in 1998, and subsequently grafted to the varieties that make up this wine, namely; Mataro (52%), Grenache (32%), Cinsault (10%) and Mondeuse Noir (6%). The wine is fruit driven having been aged in old Slovenian oak,it’s a wine that always provides interest and sits confidently amongst the impressive Pinot and Chardonnay produced by Matt Harrop and team.
A youthful red hue in the glass, the nose has attractive floral dark cherry and savoury sage spice. The wine is lively and bright in the glass with brambly dark fruits set against textural tannins, a great wine for food that is imminently drinkable.
