2015 Parish Hill Nero d'Avola
Wine Rating

93
Parish Hill wines are a small winery from Adelaide Hills established in 1998 who have a focus on Italian varieties.

The 2015 Nero d’Avola was matured in a clay amphora and is a spicy, vibrant and fruit driven wine that provides plenty of interest.

In terms of colour the wine is a light to ruby red in the glass, the nose is dominated by black cherry with background notes of savoury licorice strap and touch of menthol.

Zippy acidity and drying tannin balance the primary fruit notes of dark cherry and blackberry, there is a dried strawberry and cocoa aspect to the long drying finish that is accentuated by lingering spice and mouth drying tannin.

A wine worth seeking out.
