Review Detail
2014 Terre a Terre Cabernet Franc
Wine Rating
93
Cabernet Franc is a variety that too often only plays a minor role as part of a blend, as a single variety it can produce some exceptional wines that have lightness and elegance but also display plenty of complexity and interest. The 2014 Terre a Terre is in this category.
An attractive nose with dark cherry and plum fruit that benefits from background smokey notes and a herbaceous edge. The wine is medium bodied with a seamless texture on the palate, top notes of rhubarb and dark cherry work in with grippy savoury tannins and touches of plum and spicy vanillin oak to finish.
Will continue to evolve over the medium term.
