2015 Angullong Fossil Hill Barbera
Wine Rating

91
A grape that has it’s spiritual home in Piedmont, Barbera is the third most cultivated grape variety in Italy behind Sangiovese and Montepulciano. The variety is known for it’s colour and the enjoyable interplay between low tannin and high acid.

This release is grafted from Orange, with Angullong having a penchant for Italian varietals. The nose gives plenty of upfront dark cherry and rhubarb which is given a lift by subtle herbs, spice and charcuterie notes. The palate is seamless with oak and tannin melding into one, the acid pulls everything together with spiced french oak and drying juicy dark cherry the lingering notes.

Great value for money.
