2015 Shanahans The Barking Dog Grenache Shiraz Mataro
Wine Rating

94
Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro is the pin up blend for Barossa, it’s a blend that can sometime be on the savoury side and lacking personality. This isn’t the case here.

An inky dark red in the glass with a nose that is a heady mix of blackberry, plum, liquorice all sorts and understated tobacco. The palate is medium to full bodied and provides a supple, generous expression of black fruits that slowly show a more savoury and sullen side with earth, tobacco and charcuterie notes making themselves known. The finish has drive and presence with well defined blackberry fruit interjected by oak induced spice and layered tannins.

The value here is incredible.
