Review Detail
2018 Eldridge Estate PTG
Wine Rating
95
This is the best release of the PTG to date, strikingly youthful but maintains complexity and interest. The wine itself is a 50/50 blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay, was wild fermented under CO2 and bottled after 8 months within minimal intervention and preservative. A bright reflective red in the glass, the nose has a floral cherry note that melds with smokey, yet sweet whole bunch characters.
A svelte yet textural palate with a crunch of acidity that works against pure red berry fruits. Gamay takes the show to finish with sweet earth and gentle spice that lingers.
