Review Detail
2018 d’Arenberg The Hungee Heartstrings Montepulciano
Wine Rating
92
A very welcome addition to the d’Arenberg lineup, with Montepulciano responding well to the maritime climes of McLaren Vale.
Violets, plum, fresh earth and cured meats have some serious impact on the nose. The palate is juicy and driven by plum and blackberry fruit, tannins have a bracken like edge. The mid palate sees dark cocoa and raspberry that combines with balanced but present acidity. The finish has milk chocolate and a sweetness of red berry fruits.
