Review Detail
2018 Mount Avoca Estate Lagrein
Wine Rating
89
True to the variety, the wine is a glass staining vibrant red. The nose gives a very Pyrenees expression of the variety with mint joining bright red fruits, some fennel and oak spice. The oak takes centre stage at this point in the wines development with smokey, herbaceous tones to plum and dark cherry fruit. Tannin and acid are compact with a build of oak derived extract to finish that shrouds the fruit.
