An age old Barossa blend with grapes sourced from Western Barossa. The soils of Western Barossa are ironstone, brown loam and clay that the scene for the wine which is an earthen and savoury expression of Barossa that speaks of the place and variety and less the hand of the winemaker.
The nose has plum that lifted by violets and old leather; the palate is medium to full bodied with a baseline of earthen dark cherry and plum. Tannins are fine and give great structure, with acidity well handed and providing flow without impacting the primary fruit influences. A weave of fruit derived spice melds with dark cherry to finish.
