This is an interesting wine from a number of different angles, firstly it’s a blend of Chardonnay, Viognier and Malvasia with the latter of the grape varieties hailing from the ancient port city of Monembasia in southern Greece. Secondly it is an expression of vineyard and site that is unique, compelling and most importantly very enjoyable.

A lightly golden yellow in the glass the nose is unlike any other white i’ve had, there are the faintest baseline of apricot and candied citrus but what sets this wine apart is the delicious bush honey and understated rose petal aromatics.

The palate is full bodied and oscillates between a structure and textural core of marzipan and peach with top notes of fig and gentle forest floor spices, the wine has great depth to finish. A wine to track down.
