Review Detail
2011 Helen’s Hill Arneis
Wine Rating
91
This was tasted at cellar door and if memory serves me correctly this might be the final release of this wine from Helen’s Hill, which would be a shame given this is one of the better Australian Arneis i have tried with an enjoyable interplay between crunchy acid and fuller pear.
The nose has fresh toast, unripe pear and lanolin characters that are youthful but rounded, the palate pits grapefruit pith against nashi pear, creating a wine that is crisp but has enough substance and complexity to be a compelling drink. The finish has great length, with the wine drinking in it’s prime now.
