Review Detail
2014 Yarra Yering Dry White No. 1
Wine Rating
94
The Dry White No. 1 is a blend of 83 % Semillon and 17% Sauvignon blanc and has seen time on skins and benefitted from malolactic fermentation that has given both texture and a suggestion of richness.
The nose gives waxy green apple with background notes of lanolin. The palate opens with a finely filamented core of citrus acidity with leesy inputs adding texture and depth with the slightest suggestion of creamier notes. The finish is flush with citrus and gives considerable length.
This is one for the cellar and is sure to evolve over the next decade.
