Review Detail
2016 Catlin Wines Gruner Veltliner
Wine Rating
92
Wild yeast fermented and aged in oak for 6 months, it’s the most unique expression of Gruner i’ve had from this country to date.
The nose has candied lime and lemon notes with a suggestion of sulphide funk that is very much in the background. The palate pits tightly coiled acidity with a mineral edge against fuller lees notes that give breadth to lemony fruit. The finish is drying and a mix of meyer lemon, lime and chalk.
