2015 Levantine Hill Melange Traditional Blanc
Wine Rating

95
Levantine Hill don’t do things by halves, the attention to detail in the assembly of this wine is second to none and it has benefited from being held back for a few years prior to release.

The wine is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Viognier with each of the constituent varieties leaving their mark on the wine, but combine to create a wine of immense complexity.

The nose has top notes of passionfruit, and apricot with floral lift of musk against a herbaceous backdrop. The inclusion of Viognier gives a richness to the palate, but the grassy and citrus notes that come from the other varieties cut a swathe through the fuller stone fruits and set the wine up for a long, passionfruit and peppery gooseberry finish.

Will continue to evolve over the shorter term.
