Review Detail
2017 Robert Stein Semillon Riesling Gewürztraminer
Wine Rating
90
This is an interesting wine… it was fermented on skins for 7 days and on gross lees with residual sugar retained in the finished wine. There was a lot of winemaking that went into a $18 wine !
The nose gives green apple, lemon, and musk with the palate almost apple cider like given the slight spritz and residual sugar. However, If cider tasted like this I would drink more cider. There is a faint spice note from the Gewurtaztraminer and well handled acidity. Time on lees has given significant texture to finish.
A wine best enjoyed over the short term.
