Review Detail
2018 Grey Sands Pinot Blanc
Wine Rating
94
I really respect the wines of Grey Sands, they truly speak of maker and place and are held back before release to have the most impact and understanding from consumers.
A light yellow in the glass, the nose has fresh quince, bergamot and a touch of custard apple, which is anything but the straight up and down citrus characters that Pinot Blanc can sometimes be known.
The palate has good weight and an underlying richness to it that works well with expressive stone fruits and beautifully timed and textured acidity that tapers the wines stone fruit influences mid stride. A faint textural pull to finish, and a continuation of the citrus and bergamot on the nose.
