Review Detail
2017 Gartelmann Stephanie Pinot Gris
Wine Rating
88
An intriguing colour in the glass; a very light peach that is as pretty as it is unusual. The nose is heady combination of honeysuckle, pear and and hints of Turkish delight that emphasises the wines youthfulness.
There is plenty of weight and structure on the palate, with a sweetness of apple and pear fruit that is contrasted by driving citrus notes and a savoury thread to finish that at this point in the wines development overshadows the fruit, a few more months in bottle will help settle.
