Pinot Gris February 27, 2018
2017 Sidewood Estate Pinot Gris
Wine Rating

92
Sourced from the Oakbank Vineyard, the wine was whole bunch pressed before partial barrel fermentation in old French Oak.

There is a lot to like about this wine, the nose is delicate, floral and steeped in pear and jasmine; yet the palate has an undeniably chalky and savoury edge with background lees notes giving a suggestion of richness before a drying, textural finish.

This is not your everyday Pinot Gris, it’s complex yet considered and will enjoy a few years in the cellar.
