Review Detail
2019 Sidewood Estate Pinot Gris
Wine Rating
93
The wine was 90% whole bunch pressed, with free run juice barrel fermented, before being aged on lees for 5 months in large format French oak. The nose has characteristic pear and spice with some floral lift, the palate is supple and expansive with a gentle build of musk like spice to brown pear that is contrasted by understated lime. The wine has lovely texture on the mid palate, with a mineral chalkiness to the acidity and time on lees giving a savoury edge. The length is very good and the wine will easily develop over the next year or two.
