2010 Bass Phillip Premium Pinot Noir

The Premium release sits in between the Estate and Reserve in the hierarchy of Pinot Noir from this esteemed Australian producer. The 2010's have been excellent across the board with the Premium no different, if not somewhat different stylistically to the other releases.

The wine is a light red in colour, the nose has cherry and savoury oak with a dash of nail polish that blows off with time in the glass. The wine is more structural and layered than anything else, with red fruits, spice and dusty tannins all working together. The finish has a herbal minty aspect that adds another dimension. This wine will be like a great burgundy in the cellar, unravelling more as time goes on.
