Review Detail
2006 Pooley Coal River Pinot Noir
Wine Rating
90
A developed red in colour, there is an elegant savouriness to the nose with drying cherry characters backed by grainy oak.
The wine shows good complexity on the palate, with textural contrast between toasted oak, lean cherry fruits, and earthy tannins giving a complete and enjoyable mouth feel. The finish has limited fruit but a good hit of stem and earth.
As with a number of Tasmanian Pinot’s this wine will continue to evolve with some additional time in the cellar.
