Review Detail
2008 Frogmore Creek Pinot Noir
(Updated: December 05, 2013)
Wine Rating
90
Tasmanian Pinot Noir and Chardonnay seem to start showing their best after a few years in the bottle, with the 2008 release from Frogmore creek really starting to come together.
The wine is a medium red with slightly browning hues towards the rim, the nose is more on the savoury side of the cherry fruit spectrum, with considered oak adding some background interest.
The wine has good structure and resultant complexity with sappy red fruits supported by firm but fine tannins, and a spicy vanillin lift adding generosity to the savoury finish.
This will live for a number of years to come.
