Review Detail
2004 Domaine Anne Gros Vosne-Romanee Les Barreaux
Wine Rating
97
A medium red hue in the glass, wonderfully expressive nose with smokey stem, sour edged cherry and subtle meaty notes.
This wine is all that you look for in a pinot on the palate with stemmy, sour edged, just ripe cherry giving structure on entry with charcuterie and forrest floor building across the palate. The tannins are assertive and build structure, the finish is more in the savoury spectrum with poached rhubarb and baking spice adding depth. The finish is expansive.
