Review Detail
2004 Chanters Ridge Pinot Noir
Wine Rating
90
Chanters Ridge is a small producer form the Macedon Ranges in Victoria. The regions climatic conditions lend themselves to low volume premium cool climate grapes.
There is a mineral structure to the wines from the region that demand time to fully integrate and reveal the more delicate and complex elements that are hidden within. The 2004 release is really starting to hit it’s straps with plenty of varietal dark cherry and stewed rhubarb on the nose. The palate is medium bodied and maintains piquant acidity a dusting of baking spice and drying depth of dark cherry to finish.
Bottled under screw cap this wine will live for a considerable period of time.
