Review Detail
2001 Moorilla Estate Pinot Noir
Wine Rating
94
Tasted blind you could have sworn this came from Burgundy, as a 16 year old wine you would be hard pressed to find a more enjoyable and complex example of Australian Pinot Noir.
A nose of undergrowth, dark cherry and rhubarb with haunting complexity. Fruit holds it’s own on the palate with leathery dark cherry and plum given a touch of spice from oak and generous earthen notes, drying dark cherry lingers to finish.
Will hold for a few more years, but a great aged Australian Pinot Noir.
