Review Detail

2015 Tapanappa Fleurieu Peninsula Pinot Noir
Wine Rating

92
Produced from fruit that was declassified from the Foggy Hill label, the wine is decidedly youthful and is both one for the cellar and evidence of the potential longevity of Pinot from the Flerieu Peninsula

A bright, youthful red in the glass with primary red cherry fruit that is supported by layers of quality French oak and a background savoury thread.

The palate shows a wine that is pretty now but needs plenty of time to unravel the complexities that sit behind vibrant red cherry and cranberry fruit. Oak adds a sheath of richness and class with a faint line of earth that gives interest now and is bound to become more prominent over time.
