2008 Freycinet Pinot Noir
Wine Rating
95
The colour is an almost inky red to purple, the nose shows wonderful varietal definition with dark cherry, plum and even a hint of blackberry in the mix. The palate hits you with an exceptional display of well defined fruit, balanced acidity and perfectly proportioned tannins. The wine shows excellent complexity, with spice influences and a lift from the 30% new oak that went into the wine. The finish is long and mouth filling, an excellent cellaring proposition.
