A nose of iodine, elastoplast and sweet earth; red cherry fruit is somewhere in there.
The palate retains the funk from the nose and tastes much older than a 2016 wine with fruit muted and given an earthen and leathery note. Likely a bit of brettanomyces, but given there is good fruit and some nice oak it’s passable; some will quite enjoy and others will detest.
