Review Detail
2014 Grey Sands Pinot Noir
Wine Rating
94
An uncompromising producer from the Tamar Valley, the wines are held back in bottle for close to a decade in some instances and are the definition of hand crafted in limited quantities. The 2014 Pinot Noir is bold with layers of interest; on the nose there is plum, cherry, sandalwood spice, fresh earth / undergrowth and with time come some charcuterie notes.
Spiced raspberry and strawberry fruit, broad and textured with layers of spice alongside grippy and earthen tannin. Black cherry and prune have impact to finish with generous, but integrated french oak richness a final embellishment.
