Review Detail
2018 Curly Flat Western Pinot Noir
Wine Rating
96
A small bottling from the western plantings at Curly Flat, the vines were planted in 1998 and it is the coolest site in the vineyard.
The aromatics are quite stunning with purity of red cherry fruit intertwined with baking spice and warm earthen tones. The palate has power and finesse with a backbone of finely etched tannin that is drying and mineral but gives the platform for concentrated red berry fruits to slowly unfurl, oak gives generosity and a thread of continuity to the wine with the finish giving layers of cherry and rhubarb fruit that lingers.
A wine that showing incredibly well now, that will continue to grow in the decade to come.
