Willowlake is one of the iconic vineyards of the Yarra Valley, this year it has delivered a slightly fleshier expression of Pinot Noir when compared to its 2018 siblings from Hazeldene and Henk Vineyards. A light and vibrant red in the glass with classical aromatics of red cherry, fine baking spice and a faint build of undergrowth. The palate is pretty but retains impact; red fruits are piercingly pure but mesh seamlessly with earth and spice. The finish goes on and on, showing balance of acid and tannin that is supported by beautiful fruit.
