2020 Sidewood Oberlin Pinot Noir
Wine Rating

92
The Oberlin clone hails form Burgundy and is another single clone release produced by Sidewood that gives the drinker an insight to the differences within a variety based on the clone.

The wine included 100% whole bunches in the ferment and was aged in older oak, allowing fruit and some winemaking choices (whole bunch) speak for themselves. In terms of colour the wine is very light, a few shades away from a dark rose !

The aromatics enjoy the smokey, stemmy spice of whole bunch combining with red cherry and wild strawberry, the wine is free flowing with taut acidity and drying, fine tannins. There is crunchy red cherry that takes on undergrowth before a long, fruit driven finish.

Will reward a few years in bottle.
