2019 Castle Rock Estate Pinot Noir
Wine Rating

94
Castle Rock Estate are a consistent benchmark for the region of Porongurup, they are varietal and approachable on release, however with time show a medium to long term cellaring prospect.

A medium, glossy red in the glass with undergrowth and spice met with red and dark cherry. Dark cherry and rhubarb are interjected by brown spices and fresh earth on the palate; tannins are soft and expansive, but held in check by well timed acidity. The youthful disposition of generous cherry fruits wins over savoury nuance to finish, but more of that will come in time.
