Review Detail

2021 Burton McMahon George’s Vineyard Pinot Noir
Wine Rating

95
The grapes were sourced from upper Yarra which was immediately evident in terms of colour, a light red in the glass with good clarity. Don’t let the colour fool you, the wine unfurls on the nose with sweet spice and red cherry before a build of undergrowth and bracken.

The palate starts with piercingly pure red cherry and rhubarb that takes on understated earth and a weave of brown spices; acidity is layered and textural giving focus and drive to the wine. The finish has cranberry, damp earth and spice.
