Review Detail
2022 Curly Flat Western Pinot Noir
Wine Rating
96
It is always intriguing to try the trio of Curly Flat releases, with the Western, Central and Estate wines all having their own intricacies that show the quality and depth of one of the Macedon Ranges finest sites.
A medium red to purple in colour with a floral, pretty nose that sees red cherry and a touch of rhubarb that is annexed by finely proportioned spice. The palate is medium bodied, but with great drive. There is a core of spiced cherry with a floral lifts and the integration of oak is seamless. Tannins have just enough firmness and give impressive length. To finish there is a savoury undertone with a restrained sweetness and spice.
