2016 Robert Stein Half Dry Riesling

It takes great wine making to get the balance right with an off dry, or in this case a half dry riesling. The balance and texture that has been achieved is excellent, no wonder Robert Stein are known as the Riesling experts !

The wine has 10g/l residual sugar but is in no way cloying or sweet given the interaction with juicy citrus acidity. The wine is a light yellow with a touch of green, the nose gives candied lime and green apple with touches of talc. The interplay between sugar and acid on the palate is tantalising with more tropical fruits meeting drying lime and a chalky edge to finish.

Enjoyable now but will reward time.
