Robert Stein for those who haven’t heard of them have been quietly producing some of the most compelling Rieslings in this country, this off dry is deliciously moreish and undeniably elegant.

The wine was whole bunch pressed, with the pressed juice kept seperate and fermented using wild yeast in old french oak, a technique that helps to build layers of complexity. There was 10g of residual sugar left in the wine that set the scene for a texturally appealing experience !

The nose is a heady mix of apricot, ginger and lime, the palate has perfect balance between the residual sugar and the finely crafted lines of acidity that come in waves and provide the base for candied lime and understated apricot to provide impact.

The finish lingers with citrus notes meeting pickled ginger and a satisfying chalkiness from the acidity. A wine worth hunting down.
