2005 Crawford River Riesling
Wine Rating

95
I was fortunate enough to try this wine alongside the current vintage (2012), the 2005 has only just started to develop some secondary characters, maintaining the same mineral and chalky acid structure that is front and centre in the current vintage.

The nose is a complex expression of apricot skins, orange peel and green apple, the palate is generous with musky apricot and and lemon curd characters that are masterfully arranged against a canvas of chalky, mineral acid. The finish has superb persistence.
