Review Detail
2012 Goaty Hill Riesling
Wine Rating
96
I was at a tasting recently and was looking at a number of Tasmanian Chardonnay's, it was only by chance that the Goaty Hill Riesling struck my eye, and i'm pleased it did as it is one of the most interesting wines that i tried in 2013.
A pale to light yellow in colour with floral lychee and lemon blossom aromas on the nose, the palate is a layered and rounded expression of Riesling that showcases the true potential of this variety in the Chardonnay and Pinot dominant region. The wine is framed by green apple and citrus with wonderfully complex fennel influences on the considerable finish.
