Review Detail
2009 Pewsey Vale Contours Riesling
Wine Rating
94
The Contours is produced from old vines on a Single vineyard in the Eden Valley, it has become an Australian icon over the years, and this is the first time i’ve had a chance to try the wine.
The wine is a light yellow with flecks of green in the glass, there is a nose of lanolin, lime and wet slate with a touch of kerosine. The palate is mineral and textured with a powdery acidity that combines with piercing citrus fruits and a touch of richness on the mid to back palate. Exceptional length to finish, will gain secondary complexity over the next few decades.
