Riesling October 12, 2015
2013 Seppelt Drumborg Riesling
Wine Rating

96
The Drumborg vineyard is one of Victoria’s best kept wine secrets, the vineyard was planted in 1964 and produces Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that almost uniformly provide pristine fruit and crystalline natural acidity.

The 13 Riesling is an exceptional release, the wine gives a light yellow with a fleck of green in the glass. The nose is already starting to get some developed toast and petroleum characters that are backed by citrus blossom.

There is great balance and drive on the palate, defined lime and lemon work against a chalky and crystalline acidity, there is just a hint of fruit richness that adds depth and mouthfeel.

The finish has drive of lime with wet slate undertones, this wine grow and evolve over the next 20 + years.
